A one-off website build is a depreciating asset. You pay thousands upfront, the agency hands it over, and from that day nobody is maintaining it, improving it or keeping it ranking. Two years later you pay again.
A pay monthly website flips the incentive. We only keep earning the fee if the site keeps earning its keep, so every month it gets hosted, maintained, secured and improved. Your risk is a month's fee, not a five-figure deposit with a stranger.
And when you want to own it outright, you can: a clear one-off buyout is part of the deal from day one.

Pay monthly vs a one-off build, honestly
A typical UK agency build runs £5,000 to £10,000 upfront, plus hosting, plus maintenance, plus a day rate every time you need a change. Growth at £350/mo is £4,200 a year with all of that included, and the site keeps improving instead of quietly rotting.
Where a one-off build genuinely makes more sense, we will say so. Businesses with an in-house team who will really maintain the site are often better off buying outright, which is why the buyout exists and why our web design page covers both routes.

With Glide, a professional pay monthly website is £150 per month on Lite or £350 per month on Growth, with no setup fee. Hosting, SSL, maintenance and a set number of monthly changes are included, and Growth adds SEO foundations, AI-search readiness and integrations. First month is paid on kickoff, there is a 3-month minimum, then 30 days’ notice. Prices exclude VAT.
Because a five-figure upfront build is better for their cash flow, and because a subscription only works if the site keeps earning its fee every month. Pay monthly puts the pressure on the agency to keep delivering. That is exactly why we like it: if the work stops being worth it, you can leave.
Do the honest maths and it is usually the opposite. A £350/mo Growth subscription is £4,200 a year, and that includes hosting, maintenance, security, changes and ongoing SEO foundations that a one-off build charges extra for, or simply never does. A typical agency build at £5,000 to £10,000 upfront still needs hosting and maintenance on top, and starts going stale the day it launches.
While you subscribe, we build, host and run it for you. Whenever you want to own the build outright, there is a clear one-off buyout: £1,500 for a Lite five-page site or £3,500 for a Growth site. We transfer the code, hosting and accounts to you and you can host it anywhere. If the subscription stops without a buyout, the site comes offline because the service stops. No games, the buyout exists precisely so there is no lock-in.

A Lite site goes live in around 14 days and a Growth site in around 21 days from kickoff. We can move that fast because the people building the site are the people making the decisions.
